Begin Your Journey from Pain to Peace and Plenitude

-Galen of Pergamon-

"But I have seen a severely wounded brain healed."

Meet Dr. Paul Kiritsis

Perpetually faithful to the scientist-practitioner model, Dr. Kiritsis envisions the trajectory of his career as one that amalgamates assessment, clinical practice, and research. He has complemented his education and experience in psychology/neuropsychology with formal education and training in neurology, neurologic assessment, and select neurodiagnostic techniques (i.e., EEGs, EMGs, EVs, and so forth), and is currently completing additional medical studies in pain management. Dr. Kiritsis considers himself eclectic, integrative, and transtheoretical when it comes to therapeutic style, and he draws upon techniques from the psychodynamic, humanistic-existential, and transpersonal traditions as well as the evidence-based behavioral therapies like ACT, CBT, and DBT. He believes illumination and cultivation of personal strengths, trust in the process, and self-discovery to be fundamental aspects of efficacious psychotherapy. He is also trained in clinical hypnosis.

Practice Areas

Dr. Kiritsis provides the following therapy and assessment services:

Adult and Young Adult Psychotherapy

Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation for diagnostic clarification, formulation of rehabilitation plan, and treatment guidance. Areas of interest include neurologic conditions like epilepsy and seizure disorders, stroke, tumor, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), and dementia, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders like ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum, and learning disabilities.

Ecologically oriented neurorehabilitation of executive function and memory for individuals with the neuropsychological sequelae of an organic condition like COVID-19 or a neurological condition/ injury like a TBI, stroke, tumor, or temporal lobe epilepsy.

Cognitive Rehabilitation

These evaluations are indispensable for vocation planning and maximizing one's potential for success by identifying career pathways that are compatible with the individual's personality and temperament.

Clinical Hypnosis

Use of imagery through hypnotic induction for the adjuvant treatment of pain disorders [e.g., post-stroke, migraine, cluster headache, and cancer patients], manifest phobias and panic symptoms, smoking cessation, and enhancement of creativity.

Short-term solutions-focused therapy or longer-term psychotherapy for adults and young adults who represent the entire gamut and bandwidth of human neurodiversity.

Psychophysical Testing

Comprehensive assessment of smell and taste function to determine the chemosensory ability of employees working in hazardous environments or to detect the presence of any underlying non-neurodegenerative conditions (i.e., post-TBI smell dysfuction) and neurodegenerative diseases (i.e., prodromal Parkinsonian syndromes).
